Hi, I'm Jason.
Modern Home Labs is my small product studio in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I do two things here: I help startups make their AI features clear and trustworthy, and I design and build my own apps.
I designed Ramp Health's platform from a blank whiteboard, starting with its structure and core patterns. As Director of UX for more than 10 years, I've led the UX for everything built on it since. In that time I shipped 650+ features, became a named inventor on 2 US patents, and hired and managed a designer. A lot of that work was figuring out how AI should behave in front of real people: how sure it looks, what it says when it isn't, and when it hands off to a person.
On my own, I take apps from idea to paying users. Remy, Switchlist, and Don't Spend All Your Bacon are live on the App Store, and CreatorQ is coming soon for Mac.
